🌸Design Manifesto🌸

Empathize to Emphasize, I truly believe that to understand an issue we need to empathize with it and it is through empathy that we fully understand how much emphasis these issues need from us as humans and as designers.
‍
“Empathy is at the heart of design. Without the understanding of what others see, feel, and experience, design is a pointless task. — Tim Brown, CEO of IDEO (Ames and Bakker 2019).

The emotive relationship between a design and its consumer is the beginning of a partnership that has the power not only to build trust and recognition, but to create desire, ignite the imagination, and spark a connection that allows the work to capture the hearts of its audience.

As a designer I believe that bravery is often rewarded, be it courage to loom on the edges of traditional design protocol, or confidence to communicate with a simple and refined visual vocabulary or talking about the things that actually matter. I’m passionate about creating experiences for people and helping them discover the why behind things. Through my creative practice I want to show people how design can be utilized as an instant language to narrate identities, values, stories, and purpose.

“Design must seduce, shape, and perhaps more importantly, evoke an emotional response.” — April Grieman, president at AIGA (“about | madeinspace”, n.d.)

The integration of design and technology, specifically interactivity, has always intrigued me and I believe it forms the future of my design journey.  Design is really all about telling a story and thanks to digital space we can communicate these stories in a more poetic and interactive way.
