As a design enthusiast, I have had the privilege of exploring various design technologies during my tenure at Parsons. Below are some of the projects I have undertaken that have helped sharpen my design skills, passion and dedication towards my creative practice.
From Here to There is a multimedia installation that explores the connection between home and place.
The project uses hand-written letters as a source of inspiration and animates them to create a multi-layered and evocative experience for the viewer. The installation is designed to be both emotionally resonant and visually compelling, inviting the viewer to explore the relationship between home, place, and identity.
The aesthetic of From Here to There is characterised by a sense of intimacy and nostalgia. The hand-written letters are animated in a way that captures their unique character and emotional tone, while the videos of New York and home are carefully curated to create a sense of place and atmosphere. The installation is designed to be both immersive and contemplative, allowing the viewer to engage with the work on multiple levels.
The animations and videos are presented in a way that creates a dialogue between the two perspectives - New York and home. The animations provide a personal and emotional context for the videos, while the videos provide a visual context for the animations. This interplay creates a sense of movement and connection between the two perspectives, inviting the viewer to explore the relationship between home and place in a new and dynamic way.
The installation is designed to be participatory, encouraging the viewer to engage with the work and to reflect on their own relationship to place and identity. The animations and videos are presented in a way that allows the viewer to move around and interact with the work, creating a unique and personal experience of the installation.
