As a design enthusiast, I have had the privilege of exploring various design technologies during my tenure at Parsons. Below are some of the projects I have undertaken that have helped sharpen my design skills, passion and dedication towards my creative practice.
Calm Currents is an immersive, therapeutic experience that aims to provide individuals with a moment of pause and self-discovery in a society that dictates their every step. Through the use of touch designer software, Calm Currents creates an audio-reactive visual display that transforms the participants' voices and thoughts into unknown shapes that look like water currents, helping them let go of their heaviness and connect with their own being.
The piece encourages participants to let go of their inhibitions and allow their thoughts and emotions to flow freely, creating a safe space where they can intuitively connect with each other's energy through sound and flow. The visual display responds in real-time to the participant's voice and creates a unique, personalized experience that allows them to see and hear the transformation of their inner selves.
Calm Currents offers a unique opportunity for individuals to tap into their own being, connect with others, and feel lighter. The project intends to challenge the conventional norms of society and provides a space for growth and self-discovery.
